Recently I developed acute hip pain, severe enough to prevent me from standing without support, essentially making me immobile. I called the office and hobbled in with crutches for support, Dr. Erik immediately diagnosed the issue (spasmed hip flexor), isolated the area and began treatment. Two days later I was able to walk without support and by Friday the pain had diminished to the point of allowing me to resume limited outdoor exercise. Needless to say, I was relieved beyond words. I was suffering from back pain for a couple months thinking it would resolve by itself, as I know I heal more slowly at 62; but it didn't. My General Practitioner diagnosed a pinched sciatic nerve and sent me to Physical Therapy. After 6 months the pain was less and under control, but I was still in pain. My PT advised Chiropractic. A friend highly recommended Dr. Hemmett so I called and started treatment. After just 6 weeks I felt so much better! I get up in the morning and move without limping and I can take long walks again. My life has changed greatly since seeing Dr. Hemmett! I am a gymnast and before seeing him I was in a lot of pain and, therefore, unable to train at my full potential. After treatment, I was able to control and alleviate my pain and soreness. After just the first visit, I noticed a difference. This is my second time having the pleasure of seeing Dr. Erik. I cannot say enough to express the gratitude that I feel for this establishment. I came to them for the second time recently for what I thought was a back injury. Dr. Erik suspected immediately, by my symptoms that I was dealing with a hip issue. Though I didn't like hearing that I had degeneration of my hip (from x-rays that he requested) he was able, together with his team to decrease my pain from a 9-10 to a 1 within a couple of weeks. This will allow me to prolong surgery which I am grateful for. Their knowledge and professionalism from Dr. Erik to his rehab staff is the best I have seen.
